Staples has acquired American Identity, a multichannel distributor of corporate branded merchandise, from Republic Financial Corp. American Identity, which is based in Overland Park, KS, will continue to operate as a separate business. Its products will be sold through Framingham, MA-based Staples’ stores and direct channels.
In other Staples news, the office supplies cataloger/retailer posted an 8% increase in first-quarter revenue, to $4.6 million. Sales within the North American Delivery division, which includes the catalogs and Websites, rose 15%. Net income rose 12%, to $209 million.
