Second-quarter sales at computers manufacturer/marketer Systemax rose 18% to $647 million. Year-to-date sales increased 18% to $ 1.3 billion from $1.1 billion during the same period last year.
Sales of technology products such as computers, computer supplies, and consumer electronics grew 19% for the quarter, while sales of industrial products increased 12%.
“Although we are still in an intensely competitive environment, we experienced less price discounting in the quarter and we are pleased that our consolidated gross margin has shown improvement in the last two consecutive quarters,” Systemax chairman/CEO Richard Leeds said in a statement.
