Women’s apparel merchant The Talbots has named John Kovac as senior vice president, chief information officer. In this newly created position, Kovac will oversee the company’s information technology initiatives and will report to chief operating officer/chief financial officer Michael Scarpa.
With more than 15 years of expertise in information technology and supply chain operations, Kovac, 47, joins Talbots from Liz Claiborne, where he held various leadership roles, including interim chief information officer, vice president of systems and operations, and vice president of information technology.
Talbots earlier this month had created another new position, executive vice president of finance. Another Liz Claiborne executive—its former president Benedetta Casamento—was hired for the role.
