Now that its merchandise mix offers more than golf apparel, Wallingford, CT-based Tuttle catalog has dropped “Golf Collection” from its name, according to co-owner Adam Mosher. What’s more, the former Tuttle Golf Collection has added a new tagline: “distinctive sportswear for men and women.”
Tuttle sells knitwear, trousers, shorts, rainwear, shoes, and accessories for men and women. In addition to offering exclusive merchandise made in Scotland and Sweden, it carries brands such as Ashworth, Cole-Haan, Cutter & Buck, Geiger, and Lacoste. With the old name, catalog recipients would take one look at the cover “and not even open the book,” Mosher says.
The fall catalog, which dropped in July, was the first to carry the abbreviated name. Only 5%-7.5% of the merchandise in the fall book was golf related. “Obviously during the golf season we’ll have more [golf] product,” Mosher says.
