U.S. Retailers See Global Ecommerce Grow on Black Friday

Consistent with U.S.shoppers, international consumers are getting a jump on Black Friday to take advantage of early deals: Borderfree saw sales to international consumers nearly double between midnight and 5am on Black Friday.

The countries that saw the greatest sales increases from last year are Russia, South Korea, China, Germany and Sweden, according to Borderfree.

Borderfree expects online sales to international consumers to remain strong throughout Cyber Weekend, with retailers seeing a second peak on Cyber Monday.

Borderfree’s stats come from a analysis of more than 125 U.S.-based merchants that use its platform to sell online to global consumers, including Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, J. Crew and Crate and Barrel.
