Revieve Discovers Digital Beauty Advisors for Ecommerce Convert 25% of Shoppers

Revieve, the Helsinki, Finland–headquartered beauty-technology company offering retailers and beauty-brands with the ability to bring the in-store beauty consultant online using shopper selfies, has discovered shoppers react to the favorably to use of a Digital Beauty Advisor on e-commerce retail sites.

Through data collected across Revieve’s customer base on four continents, the company finds that an average of 25% of shoppers who use a Digital Beauty Advisor on an e-commerce site to receive personal product recommendations end up converting.

“The response from shoppers in using a Digital Beauty Advisor to receive personal product recommendations and actually convert to buyers as a result of the information provided in the Digital Beauty Advisor represents a 6x increase from the traditional 4% conversion rate experience by beauty e-commerce retailers”, explains Sampo Parkkinen, Revieve CEO.

“We’re seeing shoppers placing significant trust in the Digital Beauty Advisor –experience on e-commerce sites and are looking at it as a comparison to the in-store beauty advisor experience they’re accustomed to in-store”, continues Parkkinen.

In addition to increasing conversion rates for beauty-buyers online, the data collected by Revieve indicates that a sharp, 50% decline in shopping cart abandonment rates from shoppers receiving product recommendations using their selfies.

“We find that shoppers who use a Digital Beauty Advisor on an e-commerce retail site are more committed to the purchase than shoppers who don’t. More times than not, the act of submitting a personal selfie engages the shopper into the process of buying a product as a result of the experience”, concludes Parkkinen.
