Phoenix-based cataloger/retailer PetSmart has promoted Kenneth T. Hall to senior vice president/chief marketing officer. Hall has served in the role on an interim basis since October 2002, when Susanna Eiselsberg resigned from the position. Hall joined PetSmart in October 2000 as vice president, strategic planning and customer relationships. Prior to that, he worked at Bain & Co., where he developed business and customer loyalty strategies and programs for retail, auto manufacturing, and financial services companies.
New York-based Sure Fit made several new hires. Rick Platt was appointed vice president of sales; Linda Schropp joined as vice president of design; Choi Auyeung was hired as design quality manager; Mindie Adler is the company’s new senior Internet marketing manager; and Michael Staskiewicz was appointed media manager.
The Washington-based National Retail Federation has named David Hogan III its senior vice president, chief information officer. Hogan will serve as part of NRF’s executive management team, managing both internal and external technology needs as well as overseeing the NRF’s CIO Council. Hogan was most recently vice president/chief information officer for international retailer Duty Free Americas. Previously, he was a business unit chief information officer at The Limited, responsible for all information systems activities of Lane Bryant.
Edgewater, NJ-based multititle cataloger Hanover Direct has named Robert H. Masson to its board of directors. Masson was most recently senior vice president, finance and administration of Parsons & Whittemore, a market pulp producer for the paper industry, from which he retired in June 2002. He has also served in executive financial and treasury roles with Ford, PepsiCo, and Combustion Engineering (now part of the ABB Group). Hanover Direct also announced that J. David Hakman would be leaving the board of directors. Mr. Hakman has served as a board member of Hanover Direct and its predecessors since May 1989.
Ventura, CA-based list firm AccuList USA has appointed Tiffany Vostmyer director of list management. Before joining AccuList USA, Vostmyer managed more than 100 lists at Carnegie Marketing Associates; she also previously served as a media planner and list broker for Grizzard Advertising.
Broomfield, CO-based office and computers supplies cataloger Corporate Express has appointed Ron Lalla vice president of merchandising. Lalla had been senior vice president of marketing for Newark Electronics.

Atlanta-based direct marketing firm Response Media Products has hired Diane Widerstrom as vice president of integrated services. Widerstrom has been in the direct marketing field since 1978, working on the client, agency, and list brokerage sides, specializing in lists and turnkey direct marketing services. At Response Media, she will initiate a division offering production, printing, merge/purge, and total marketing solutions.
PrimeNet Marketing Services, a St. Paul, MN-based direct marketing services provider, has announced several new hires and a promotion. Ann Farrell has joined PrimeNet Marketing as account executive; Mark Lawrence and Sara Savoy have been hired as business development executives; Feroze Iqbal was promoted to director of business development.
Peterborough, NH-based list firm Millard Group has hired Ed Bezursik as account manager in the company’s list management division. Bezurski, who has held management positions at Steinway & Sons and Chandos Records, will be based in Millard Group’s Darien, CT, office.
Sun Prairie, WI-based CTI Paper USA has hired Carolyn Rademan as marketing communications manager. Rademan will be managing marketing and public relation campaigns to promote CTI’s papers.
Nancy O’Reilly has joined Ridgefield, CT-based D-J Associates as director of new business. O’Reilly has 15 years of direct marketing experience, primarily in list brokerage and management.
Loring Direct Response in New City, NY, recently hired Timothy Haggerty as vice president of sales. Haggerty, who previously worked for ClientLogic, will be responsible for Loring’s sales and marketing efforts for its list management and brokerage clients, as well as for new business acquisition.
Crystal Lake, IL-based direct marketing agency PreMedia One has named Paula J. Jeske business development/direct marketing specialist. Jeske was vice president of new business development at Black Dot Group’s Ambrosi division in Chicago.
Vermont Country Store, in Manchester Center, VT, announced that Martha Eyman has joined the company as director of merchandising for soft goods. Eyman was formerly with Garnet Hill, where she was the director and divisional leader of home merchandising. Prior to that she spent nine years with L.L. Bean. Additionally, Vermont Country Store has promoted Randi Lawrence to director of marketing, responsible for circulation and analysis, Internet marketing, statistical modeling, and market research. Prior to joining the company in late 2001, Lawrence held senior management positions with Brookstone, Swiss Colony, and SmartPets. And Scott Danielsen was promoted to manager of statistical services and market research, responsible for managing all statistical and market research projects. Danielsen joined the company in 2000.
Scarsdale, NY-based list firm Leon Henry has announced several promotions. Vice president/general manager Gail Henry, who joined Leon Henry in 1990, has been promoted to executive vice president/general manager; Debra Goldstein was promoted from division manager to vice president of LH Management Division, and Jacqueline Gizzo was promoted from senior account executive to vice president in Leon Henry’s brokerage division. Goldstein has been with the company for 12 years, Gizzo for 22.
