Santa Monica, CA-based integrated marketing communications agency The Phelps Group appointed Cynthia Ewell Clotzman vice president, customer relationship management. Most recently, Clotzman was a marketing executive with two dot-com companies. Prior to that, she was strategic marketing director at direct mail catalog company U.S. Sales Corp.

Fort Worth, TX-based leather marketer and distributor The Leather Factory has promoted Ronald C. Morgan, chief operating officer, to president. Morgan succeeds Wray Thompson who is board chairman/CEO. Michael A. Markwardt has been added to the board. Markwardt has been the primary shareholder of a family investment business since 1999. Shannon L. Greene, chief financial officer/treasurer of The Leather Factory, was also appointed to the board.

New York-based Internet software/Website management company Update has appointed Jim Debth senior vice president of sales and business development. Debth most recently served as group vice president for strategic development at Real Media. He is also a board member on the New Media Federation of the Newspaper Association of America.

Columbus, OH-based specialty retailer of intimate apparel Intimate Brands appointed Tracey Thomas Travis vice president, finance and chief financial officer. Most recently, Travis served as chief financial officer for Rexam Beverage Can Americas.

New York-based retailer of specialty catalogs Brylane appointed Steven Goldberg to the newly established position of president of the Brylane Home Lifestyles Group. Most recently, Goldberg served as president of the Home Fashions Group at Hanover Direct, where he supervised a variety of the company’s catalog offerings. Previously, he worked for Bloomingdale’s and American Express as vice president of merchandising in their home and lifestyle divisions.

Berwyn, PA-based direct marketing agency Devon Direct has appointed Quentin Monte to media director. Monte joins the agency from Direct Marketing/QMC, where he worked for the past 19 years, most recently as senior list broker.

Peterborough, NH-based list management firm Millard Group promoted Linda Bridson to vice president, sales, in list management in the company’s Darien, CT, office. Most recently, Bridson was manager/director of list management for the company.

Windsor, CT-based direct response marketing solutions company Dimac Marketing Partners has named Cherie Volastro vice president, Internet solutions development for the company’s four business units: Dimac Direct, DMW, MBS, and Palm Coast Data. Prior to joining Dimac, Volastro was vice president, creative services for iXL.

New York-based marketing services firm Holsted Marketing appointed Caroline Farnsworth senior vice president of new business development. Prior to Holsted, Farnsworth was vice president of new business development for Sesame Workshop, formerly known as Children’s Television Workshop, in the publishing and online divisions.

Shelburne, VT-based gifts cataloger The Vermont Teddy Bear appointed Maxine Brandenburg to its board of directors. Brandenburg is also the president/CEO of the Vermont Business Roundtable, and chair of the New England Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.

Sun Prairie, WI-based paper manufacturer and importer CTI Paper USA has appointed Jeffery T. Fairchild sales and promotion manager, Southeast Region. Most recently, Fairchild held sales and territory manager positions with Mead Paper. New York-based Saks Fifth Avenue Enterprises (SFAE), which includes Saks Fifth Avenue stores, Saks Off 5th and Saks Direct, has promoted Sheri-Wilson Gray, executive vice president for Saks Fifth Avenue, to chief marketing officer for SFAE; and Donald Watros, executive vice president, finance and planning for Saks Fifth Avenue, to chief administrative officer for SFAE; and has named Marilyn Carracino senior vice president, general merchandise manager for Saks Direct. Carracino was formerly senior vice president, general merchandise manager for Folio.

Croton Falls, NY-based list management company Mal Dunn Associates has appointed Chuck Orlowski vice president of list management. Orlowski was formerly business unit leader for Acxiom Corp.’s Smartbase Database. Frank Quaranta has been appointed director of iShare, the company’s new e-marketing division. Most recently, Quaranta was director of media services for Millard Interactive, part of Millard Group.

Mount Laurel, NJ-based distributor of printing, publishing, envelope, label and forms papers Roosevelt Paper Co. has appointed David Dykes and Marty Lippert to its outside sales staff. Dykes will be part of its Richwood, KY, facility and will cover TN, AK, MS and LA. Lippert will be based at the firm’s Chicago division, and will cover KS, Western MO, Western IA, NE, CO and UT.

Mahwah, NJ-based private label credit card company Shoppers Charge Accounts has appointed Brenda Lubbers national account manager. Most recently, Lubbers was a corporate account executive with United Leasing. Prior to that, she served as a branch manager for First General Mortgage Co.

San Luis Obispo, CA-based Christian products marketer and retail services company The Parable Group has promoted Tim Blair to chief operating officer from vice president of operations; Jim Seybert from vice president, marketing, to the newly created position of vice president, business development; Kay Cementina from manager of merchandising and retail development to manager of planning and development; and Marilyn Largent, from product and promotion development coordinator to Parable’s manager of merchandising and marketing.

Greenwich, CT-based list firm Direct Media (DMI) has appointed Rosemarie Montroy head of business development. Montroy brings more than 27 years of direct marketing experience to her new position. Most recently, she worked on developing Direct Media’s interactive initiatives.

New York-based marketing and sales promotion agency Ventura Associates has promoted Marla Altberg to president, from senior vice president, marketing, and Al Wester, formerly vice president, director of operations to general manager.

Greenwich, CT-based list management company Direct Media List Brokerage & Management has reappointed Simone Schoevaars to brokerage account executive in its Walnut Creek, CA, branch office. Schoevaars, who spent the last year as account executive with Paradysz Matera, began her direct marketing career at Direct Media in 1987 and helped open its Walnut Creek office.

Torrance, CA-based technology solutions supplier IdeaMall has announced that Frank Khulusi, chairman/CEO has assumed the president’s title and responsibilities, replacing Scott W. Klein, who resigned.

Direct marketer of information technology products and solutions PC Connection, based in Merrimack, NH, has named Peter Cannone senior vice president of sales for PC Connection Sales Corp., a subsidiary of PC Connection. Cannone has worked for PC Connection since 1999. Berwyn, PA-based direct marketing agency Devon Direct announced that Prudence Runyan has joined the agency as group account director on the Nextel account. Runyan joins the agency from Craftopia.com, where she served as vice president of marketing. Previously, Runyan was employed as an e-commerce marketing leader with GE Financial Assurance.

New York-based sales and marketing organization for U.S. magazines, books and specialty products Comag Marketing Group LLC (CMG) has appointed Robert J. Zawacki vice president, operations, and Edward Van Bomel senior director, operations. Most recently, Zawacki was director of client services for the company, and prior to that he was vice president, operations for Time Distribution Services. Van Bomel was most recently director of sales administration for CMG.

Whately, MA-based cataloger/e-tailer/retailer Yankee Candle Co. has announced that Craig W. Rydin has joined the company as CEO and a member of the board. Most recently, Rydin served as president of the Away From Home food services and Godiva Chocolatier divisions of Campbell Soup Co.

San Francisco, CA-based Gap has promoted Gary Muto from executive vice president, merchandising for Banana Republic, to president of the Banana Republic division. Amy Schoening was promoted from head of marketing for Banana Republic to chief marketing officer for Gap. Jerome Jessup, who had been head of product design for Banana Republic, moved over to the Gap brand.

Bethel, CT-based list management company List Services Corp. has appointed Barry Donnells president. Donnells was most recently the executive vice president/general manager of the brokerage and data processing divisions. Previously, he started Torstar Publications.

Chicago-based distributor of electronic components Newark Electronics has appointed J.C. (Jim) Nichols senior vice president, sales. Most recently, Nichols was chief partnerships and operations officer for Workzone 360, an e-commerce venture for company Square D.

Dayton, OH-based document management and workflow solutions company Standard Register has appointed M. Jay Romans senior vice president of human resources. Most recently, Romans was founder and president of consulting firm Roman & Associates.

New York-based healthcare communications company Grey Healthcare Group (GHG) has promoted Jane Parker to president of GHG advertising worldwide; Art Chavez to the newly-created post of director of operations, GHG advertising worldwide; and Cindy Machles to the newly-created position of director of marketing strategy, GHG advertising worldwide.
