Portland, ME-based pet supply manufacturer/marketer Planet Dog appointed Luke Pfeifle national account manager. Pfeifle was previously vice president of sales for L&A Molding. Planet Dog also named Mike Bray customer service specialist. Bray was previously catalog database analyst for Stonewall Kitchen. Bray replaces Jeff Cloutier, who has been promoted to product development specialist.

San Francisco-based gifts cataloger Red Envelope named Pamela Knox senior vice president of marketing. She was previously senior vice president of marketing for 1-800-Flowers.com.

King of Prussia, PA-based cataloger/retailer FAO appointed Douglas Coltharp, Brian McDermott, Charles Norris, and David Walsh to its board of directors. Coltharp is executive vice president/chief financial officer of Saks. McDermott is a principal of investment company Hancock Park Associates, president/chief financial officer of Fitness Holdings International, and a director of Weider Nutritional International. Norris is chairman of the board of Glacier Water Services and Day Runner, and a director of The Sports Club. Walsh is president of private investment vehicle KJM Investments and a director of the board of Big Dog Holdings, Sage Publications, and Sedexo Vending Management.

Menasha, WI-based printing and digital imaging solutions provider Banta Corp. has hired Sara Armbruster as director of business development. She was previously engagement manager with McKinsey & Co. Banta also announced two promotions: Mark Deterding from executive vice president of Banta’s publications group to president of the Minneapolis-based Banta Catalog Group, and Ricardo Orozco from vice president of human resources for the commercial print group to vice president of human resources for the print sector.

4imprint Group, a manufacturer/marketer of imprinted promotional products, appointed John Lord vice president of commercial operations and Greg Ebel director of sales and marketing.

Chicago-based advertising/marketing agency Ambrosi hired Joel Machak as vice president/executive creative director. Machak, previously group creative director/senior vice president for Publicis New York, will be responsible for the company’s ABD Group, which oversees its Sears, Roebuck & Co. business.

Bellevue, WA-based house file optimization services provider Sightward appointed John Messner director of sales and Michele Halliday senior manager of sales. Messner was previously director of consulting and strategic services for marketing company ActiveTools. Halliday was previously account manager at Experian.

Waukesha, WI-based marketing services provider Call Solutions promoted Stephen Zollo from president of the OnPoint division to corporate executive vice president, operations and technology. Zollo will continue to oversee Call Solution’s information technology systems companywide as well as its international efforts for contact center outsourcing.
