Charlottesville, VA-based consumer electronics cataloger Crutchfield Corp. appointed Rick Souder executive vice president, merchandising. Souder was previously vice president/general merchandise manager for retailer Circuit City Stores.

Fort Myers, FL-based women’s apparel cataloger/retailer Chico’s promoted Scott Edmonds from chief operating officer/president to CEO/president.

Sandpoint, ID-based women’s apparel cataloger/retailer Coldwater Creek appointed Warren Hashagen to its board of directors. Hashagen was chief financial officer of Gap from 1995 through 1999.

Greenwich, CT-based Direct Media named Larry May CEO. May is a member of the list firm’s board of directors and was president of May Development Services, Direct Media’s fundraising division.

J.C. Whitney & Co., a cataloger of automotive parts and accessories based in Chicago, hired William Luth as executive vice president of marketing. Luth was previously an executive with gifts cataloger Celebration Fantastic.

San Jose, CA-based Saqqara Systems, a provider of catalog management software and services appointed William Sole senior vice president, field operations. Sole will lead the company’s global sales and business development strategies.

The Chicago Association of Direct Marketing (CADM) has elected Bill Aylesworth to serve on the board of directors. Aylesworth is chairman of CFM Direct, an Oakbrook Terrace, IL-based full-service creative and marketing agency that he cofounded in 1989.

Newcastle, ME-based pet products cataloger/retailer Planet Dog appointed Blake Findlay retail operations manager. Findlay, previously retail visual manager for Apple Computer, will be responsible for providing support for sales and service efforts, strategic planning initiatives, as well as managing Planet Dog’s retail store division.

Bethany Beach, DE-based catalog consultancy Lett Direct has hired Sara McKeon as senior marketing consultant. McKeon, who was previously marketing manager for Brylane, will be responsible for providing guidance on circulation and marketing strategies.

New York-based storage software solutions provider ExaStore has appointed Melvin Ettinger president of its newly formed digital media division. Ettinger previously worked with the company on a consultancy basis. He will be responsible for marketing and selling the company’s patented storage systems to the digital media industry.

Chapel Hill, NC-based marketing consultancy Yankelovich hired Sandy McCray as vice president of strategic partnerships. McCray will build new partnerships and work with partners KnowledgBase Marketing and iBehavior to promote Yankelovich’s Monitor MindBase database marketing tool.
