Fort Worth, TX-based electronic components manufacturer/marketer TTI promoted Glenn Smith to president/CEO of both TTI and its subsidiary, Mouser Electronics. Smith has been a part of Mouser since 1973 and was named president of the cataloger in 1988.
Wakefield, MA-based marketing services provider BeNow appointed Ned McMullen senior vice president of sales. McMullen, who will head up sales for the multichannel retail segment, had been vice president of business development for S&H GreenPoints. Costa Mesa, CA-based business solutions company Experian has appointed Cindy Thomas senior vice president, corporate marketing of Experian North America. Prior to joining Experian, Thomas was the executive vice president/marketing director for the Bank of Hawaii.
South Deerfield, MA-based Yankee Candle Co. has appointed Carol Meyrowitz to its board of directors. She is currently senior executive vice president of the TJX Cos. and also president of a division of TJX, The Marmaxx Group.
Millard Group, a list management/brokerage company in Peterborough, NH, promoted Lisa Williams to director of catalog brokerage. She was previously an account manager. Millard Group also hired Kathy McGreevy as an account manager in the company's list management division. McGreevy has been in the list business since 1985.
Hackensack, NJ-based list management/brokerage Focus USA appointed Elizabeth Benzoni assistant account manager. Benzoni will be responsible for accounts within the company's management group.
Shawnee Mission, KS-based catalog agency/consultancy J. Schmid & Associates appointed Brent Niemuth senior creative strategist. Niemuth was previously senior vice president/creative director for advertising agency MMG Worldwide and the owner of Niemuth Design.
Fairfax, VA-based list company American Mailing Lists Corp. has hired Jean Tremaine as chief operating officer following the retirement of Earl Chester. Tremaine was previously the vice president of strategic development and research for Response Media Products.
The New York-based Direct Marketing Association announced the nomination of Charles Prescott to chairman of the consultative committee of the Universal Postal Union. Prescott is currently the DMA's vice president of international development and government affairs. Also, the DMA's Association for Interactive Marketing (AIM) subsidiary has named Michael Aronowitz executive director. Aronowitz has been involved in the direct and interactive marketing industries for 20 years.
The president of New York-based online retailer Bluefly, Melissa Payner-Gregor, has assumed the additional title of CEO. And Alan Kane has been elected by Bluefly's board of directors as chairman. Both positions were previously held by Ken Seiff, who will now be employed as a strategic adviser to Bluefly.
Newtown, PA-based list firm MKTG Services has hired John Ahern as senior account executive of alternative media. Ahern, who previously headed the insert media division at Mokrynski & Associates, will be responsible for cross-promoting the company's package insert and alternative media programs.
