Pleasant Co., Hallmark Cards Announce Licensing Agreement

Middleton, WI—Pleasant Company, publisher of the American Girl catalogs, has granted Hallmark Cards exclusive rights to produce products based on the company’s American Girl brand, a line of historical books, dolls, and accessories. Hallmark will be developing products such as greeting cards, giftwrap, party ware, stationery, ornaments, and gifts. Beginning in September 2002, the products will be sold in Hallmark Gold Crown stores and through the American Girl’s proprietary retail store, American Girl Place, and through the American Girl Website and catalog.
