Programmer’s Paradise Seeks ‘Strategic Alternatives’

Shrewsbury, NJ—Computer software cataloger Programmer’s Paradise announced on June 26 that it has retained C.E. Unterberg, Towbin to "review strategic alternatives" to increase shareholder value. Calls to both Programmer’s and Unterberg were not returned at press time. Sales at Programmer’s Paradise, which specializes in software for computer professionals, dropped 11.3% last year, due in large part to the sale of its European operations. The $216.5 million cataloger posted an $17.5 million net loss for 2000.
