NRF Projects Father’s Day Spending Increase

Father’s Day is just around the corner and consumers are planning to spend a little more on dad this year, according to a press release by the National Retail Federation. In a spending survey conducted by BIGInsight, the average person will spend $119.84 on Father’s Day gifts this year.

NRF Asks Judge to Reject Swipe Fee Settlement

The National Retail Federation, along with 20 other retailers, have asked a federal judge to reject a proposed settlement over credit card swipe fees alleging it is an “evil” price fixing practice conducted by Visa and MasterCard.

Non-store Retail Sales Increase 1.4% in April

Non-store retailers’ sales increased 1.4% seasonally-adjusted month-to-month and increased 19.0% unadjusted year-over-year. At the same time, retail sales rebounded in April and increased 0.6% and increased 3.9% unadjusted year-over-year., according to a press release by the National Retail Federation.
