Amazon Breakup Would Be a Mistake, Analysts Say

While it’s been widely reported that Federal Trade Commission head Lina Kahn is planning to drop a massive antitrust lawsuit against Amazon, analysts at Baird argue in a research note that the move would be wrong-headed because the company’s success is based on innovation and investment, not monopolistic practices. The FTC has already accused Amazon of duping millions into signing up for Prime.

New Study Reveals Brands Aren’t Meeting Customer Expectations

Consumers are giving brands a huge thumbs down when it comes to the overall shopping experience. According to a new study from Oracle and Customer Bliss, an overwhelming 82% of respondents said they had a disappointing or upsetting shopping experience, and 78% said they had been dissatisfied with a customer service experience.

Oracle Buys Cloud-Based WMS LogFire

Oracle has acquired LogFire, which provides a cloud-based system integrating warehouse, inventory and workforce management. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. This comes on the heels of Oracle’s major $9.3 billion acquisition of Netsuite in August, as it continues to aggressively push into cloud-based supply chain management and logistics.

Oracle has announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire NetSuite for approximately $9.3 billion. The proposed transaction is expected to close in 2016, and until the transaction closes, Oracle and NetSuite will continue to operate independently.
