Netflix Spoofs Amazon Drones

It turns out Amazon is not the only online merchant looking to get into drone fulfillment capabilities. Netflix, taking jabs at its streaming video competitor, has announced its own delivery service, “Drone 2 Home,” in a recent video mocking the futuristic service.

In this hilarious spoof, you will see the famous Netflix envelopes getting delivered via drone to a man in a urinal, a woman at her office, and even if you’re sitting in a parked car on the street.

Back in late November 2013, Amazon announced on 60 Minutes that by 2015 it hoped to be able to delivery orders to customers’ homes via drones with a new service called Amazon Prime Air. Although there is still very limited information made public about the Amazon drones, Netflix assures the public in its video “unlike other companies trying to rush unproven technology to market, we have literally spent days working out most of the bugs.”
