The Amazon effect, customer acquisition and shipping are among the hot topics on the minds of merchants as they head into holiday 2013.
Nathan Focht, president of CommerceV3, Inc., and Blake Ellis, CEO and founding partner of CommerceV3, Inc., shared some of these thoughts from their visit with 50 of their retail clients, according to a brief interview at IRCE 2013.
Many of CommerceV3’s multichannel customers are also very concerned about catalog mailing and the prices rates in doing so. According to Focht, one client wants to stop sending catalogs due to price rates, while another is everything they possibly can to mail more.
Clients, Focht said, are trying to figure out how to adjust each year with the increased price rates.
According to Ellis, marketing for the holidays has begun early. Marketing consultants are beginning before summer this year to begin preparing email campaigns, pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns and doing website order pop-up optimization.
