With Black Friday, the holiday weekend and Cyber Monday behind us, Jim Davidson, Head of Research for Bronto Software shared his thoughts about what he saw as it related to email marketing throughout the holiday weekend.
“I think what surprised me this year was how uneventful everything was,” said Davidson. “There was a lot going on, tons of sales, inboxes were slammed, websites were just getting hit left and right, so we saw all the activity there, but I think alot the energy that we typically see just a lot of anticipation that we all feel working in ecommerce really got mixed around this year.”
Davidson said it has increased customer’s expectation to find deals in a longer period of time. Retailers backed their sales through early November and saw sales go up.
“A lot of twists and turns,” said Davidson.
Davidson provided some best examples he saw by retailers throughout cyber week so far and how key times played a role when it came to email sends.
