Henderson said showrooming had definitely helped ecommerce numbers grow on Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday. Black Friday total online sales for department stores grew by 61.4% over 2012, with mobile percentage of sales growing by 46.4%.
However, Henderson doesn’t think one channel is going to cannibalize bricks and mortar – it’s more a matter of a strong holiday shopping season.
