Calabasas, CA—Children’s products cataloger/retailer The Right Start completed its acquisition of toys retailer Zany Brainy, which had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in May. Under the terms of the transaction, The Right Start acquired substantially all of the operating assets of 187 Zany Brainy stores for consideration of approximately $100 million. The Right Start also closed on the sale of $22.3 million of convertible securities to Athanor Holdings, LLC (an affiliate with Waterton Management).
