MCM Awards Winners Atop ForeSee Results’ Satisfaction Index

Musician’s Friend’s and L.L. Bean’s ecommerce sites were the apple of the 2010 MCM Awards judges’ eyes, and those merchants’ customers seem to agree. Both merchants finished in the top 10 in the sixth annual ForeSee Results E-Retail Satisfaction Index, which was released today.

L.L. Bean, which won the 2010 MCM Awards Crosschannel Merchant of the Year, was tied for fourth in the rankings with Avon with a score of 83 on a 100 point scale. That score was three points higher than its 2009 Satisfaction Index score.

Musician’s Friend, the 2010 MCM Awards Website of the Year, was in a five-way tie for eighth place with a score of 80, up one point from last year.

The study is based on a survey of nearly 10,000 visitors to 40 top ecommerce sites according to sales revenue, measured satisfaction among shoppers who visited the site, regardless of whether or not they ultimately executed a purchase online. ForeSee Results says this provides insight into the performance of retail websites as research and purchase channels.

ForeSee Results used the methodology of the American Customer Satisfaction Index to calculate the scores. The ACSI is the national standard for customer satisfaction, and ForeSee Results says this measure has been shown to have a direct link with stock prices and other measures of financial performance.

The deadline to enter the 2011 MCM Awards is Jan. 21. For information about the awards, and how to enter, click here.
