Rue La La’s founder Ben Fischman has stepped down from his post as CEO and has been replaced by Steve Davis.
Fischman founded the members only online fashion retailer in 2008 and while he offered no word on why he’s leaving, he did say in a press release, “We founded Rue La La five years ago to offer consumers the most engaging online retail experience, and I leave the company in the hands of Steve and a brilliant team who share and will continue that vision.”
Davis has been president of the Boston-based company since 2010. Prior to coming to Rue La La, Davis worked as an executive and later president with GSI Commerce, according to the release.
Michael Rubin, chairman of Rue La La said, “We thank Ben for his passion and commitment that he displayed and for paving the way for Steve to continue to elevate our company.”
According to the Boston Business Journal, employees were notified of Fischman’s departure and change in leadership earlier this week.
