Citing aggressive management of inventory management, supply chain execution, and cost controls, home decor cataloging/retailing giant Williams-Sonoma (NYSE: WSM) has boosted guidance for its fiscal 2001 diluted earnings per share from $1.31 to $1.32. Previous estimates has placed earnings per share for the company at $12.5-$1.28. Williams-Sonoma mails the Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, Pottery Barn Bed & Bath, Hold Everything, and Chambers catalogs in addition to the Williams-Sonoma book.
San Francisco-based Williams-Sonoma estimates its net revenue for fiscal 2001 at nearly $2.10 billion. Catalog and Internet sales are estimated at $741 million, up from $685.2 million for fiscal 2000. Retail sales are estimated at $1.23 billion, while shipping fees are estimated at $122 million.
For the coming year, Williams-Sonoma expects net revenue to increase 11%-13%, to $2.325 billion-$2.365 billion. It projects a 9%-11% rise in catalog and online sales, to $810 million-$825 million.
