New York–On April 5, Geerlings & Wade (Nasdaq: GEER) began trading on the Nasdaq SmallCap Market, rather than on the Nasdaq National Market. The wine marketer had received notification from the Nasdaq Listing Qualifications Panel that it did not comply with the minimum market value of public float requirement for trading on the bigger board.
On the other hand, Fort Myers, FL-based women’s apparel cataloger/retailer Chico’s FAS has upgraded. On April 11 it began trading on the New York Stock Exchange. Chico’s had been trading on the Nasdaq National Market since it went public in March 1993. Chico’s NYSE ticker symbol is “CHS.”
