Though it isn’t as major a mainstream news story as it was last Christmas season, some retailers had difficulties getting packages delivered to customers on time, according to StellaService’s Christmas cutoff analysis for 2014.
Nine of the 40 retailers StellaService took to task missed a delivery to at least one of four regions. That’s 7% of all packages ordered by the StellaService team.
Of the 10 delayed packages, eight were shipped by UPS, and six were ordered to the South region [Editor’s note: a pair of storms did hinder travel in the South the week of Christmas.].
StellaService noted that three of the merchants which missed deliveries this year – Staples, Macy’s and Kohl’s – also missed delivery last year.
Oddly enough, the four merchants with the most-aggressive cutoff date (Dec. 23) – Apple, Dell, Nordstrom and Zappos – delivered packages on time.
