Cabela’s has hired Thomas Millner as its new president/CEO. Millner, who succeeds Dennis Highby, had been the chief executive of gun maker Remington Arms’ parent company Freedom Group.
Highby, who joined Cabela’s 33 years ago, was the outdoor outfitter company’s first salaried employee and has been CEO since 2003. Cabela’s annual revenue grew from $4 million to $2.55 billion under Highby, who will serve on Cabela’s board as a vice chairman.
