Tafford Uniforms Acquires Tafford Manufacturing

The assets of Tafford Manufacturing, a manufacturer/marketer of medical scrubs, shoes, and accessories, has been acquired by Tafford Uniforms, a company formed specifically for the purchase. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The new company has no liability for Tafford Manufacturing’s debts, which led to product shortages and customer service issues. Tafford Manufacturing’s undisclosed former lender had foreclosed on North Wales, PA-based Tafford Manufacturing’s assets and subsequently sold the assets to the new Tafford Uniforms.

The first catalog under the new ownership, a 32-page Tafford clearance issue, will mailed to its house file of health care workers who wear uniforms, says vice president of marketing David Kaplan. In addition to the Tafford brand, the company owns the Cotton Scrubs & Co. and Best of Scrubs brands, which sell online.

Leading the company is CEO Gene S. Godick. According to Kaplan, in May the company will unveil new creative as well as a new branding strategy.
