Walmart Sees Strong Q2 Results, With Inflation a Driver

Walmart reported 12% second-quarter ecommerce growth, up 18% vs. 2020, as it gained market share in grocery and passed 1 million deliveries for its GoLocal service that provides last-mile service for other retailers including Home Depot, with inflation helping attract more upscale shoppers. The result was better than at rival Target.

Sears Reports $194 Million Loss 2nd Quarter

The Sears Holding Corporation, which operates Sears, Roebuck and Co., and Kmart, reported a 6% or $194 million loss in the second quarter. However, the online sales for both sears.com and kmart.com grew over 20%.

Fifth & Pacific Sees 13.4% Net Sales Increase

Fifth & Pacific, which includes clothing and lifestyle brands such as Juicy Couture, Kate Spade, and Lucky Brand, released it’s second quarter financials which showed a net sale increase of $45 million.
