Given all the attention paid to buy online pickup in store including its popularity with shoppers, only 28% of U.S. retailers currently offer the service, compared to 64% of British retailers providing its cousin, click and collect, according to a report from OrderDynamics. Having seen success in a 10-store pilot of buy online, pickup in store (BOPIS) program in the third quarter of 2016, Michael Kors plans to roll it out across all of its 300-plus U.S. locations this quarter. The company has also seen success with its new line of wearable technology, and is continuing its pullback from the wholesale channel.

An eBay Local Pilot Grows in Brooklyn

eBay said 83 businesses – including online merchants as well as retailers with physical stores – have joined its eBay Local pilot program in Brooklyn, NY., offering a range of delivery options, including $5 same-day and in-store pickup, to consumers through eBay’s website and mobile apps.

The Brooklyn trial is taking place as the company shifts the focus of Amazon Local more toward its core marketplace sellers, with less emphasis on major retailers.
