Macy’s employees came from as far as Bangor, ME and Virginia to take part in the parade. No one spent the night in the city (at least on Macy’s tab). The folks from Maine got on a bus at 8 p.m. Wednesday for the overnight trip.

Federal Reserve Sued Over Swipe Fee Reform

The National Retail Federation, the Food Marketing Institute, the National Association of Convenience Stores and retailers Boscov’s and Miller Oil filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court in Washington Tuesday saying the Federal Reserve failed to follow key requirements of a 2010 law when it adopted a flawed cap on debit card swipe fees that took effect this fall.

Deloitte: Consumers Geared Up for Black Friday Weekend

Deloitte’s 2011 pre-Thanksgiving shopping survey shows that more than half of holiday shoppers (51%) plan to shop in-stores or online over the Thanksgiving weekend. Furthermore, nearly 70% of the 1,000 consumers polled between Nov. 17 and Nov. 19 are looking for information about Black Friday sales.
