Like a lot retailers, overstockart.com started Cyber Weekend promotions a day early, by starting on Thanksgiving Day. In this video, Amitai Sasson, vice president of marketing and development for overstockart.com talks about how they did during Cyber Weekend.
“We used to define it from Black Friday to Cyber Monday, but like a lot of retailers we went back a day and started Thursday,” said Sasson. “It seemed to be a general trend; we found it to be very successful.”
Sasson said overstockart.com did a promotion split during the weekend with Black Friday as the pivotal point and Cyber Monday as the pivotal point.
“The day that stood out for me was the Sunday before Cyber Monday,” said Sasson. “Sunday was phenomenal, that stood out for me as the big difference maker, as well as the strong Cyber Monday.”
Overstockart.com saw 32% of traffic came from mobile, but customers didn’t complete the sale on mobile, they were completing the sale on tablets and desktops.
“We foresee it to be a strong season all the way through.”
