A former Amazon executive shared insights and tactics for retailers looking to innovate and reduce friction to deliver a better customer experience with a diverse group of executives gathered recently at Ecommerce Operations Technology Summit 2022 in Orlando. 
The boredom of ecommerce was first identified 24 years ago when CNET proclaimed, “Ecommerce is getting boring these days, and that’s a good thing.” Enter livestream shopping, which has proven to be a great diversion and option for consumers. It energizes through a mashup of live TV shopping, social media and direct interaction.
Amazon is taking another step to build its ecommerce fulfillment domination by allowing its 200 million-plus Prime members to purchase products from other retailers, who will be charged fees to offer Prime-like services like free two-day and next-day delivery.
The biggest source of omnichannel tax pain has always been flexibility and the process of adapting to an ever-changing tax landscape. Companies who broadened the scope and breadth of their sales streams as a result of the global pandemic were better equipped to meet this challenge.
