Shopatron Launches Local Product Search for Manufacturers

San Luis Obispo, CA – June 1, 2015 Shopatron, the world’s leading provider of cloud-based distributed order management solutions, announced the release of Local Product Search with patent-pending Finderbot™ technology. This solution will be unveiled for the first time at the 2015 Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition (IRCE) in Chicago.

In today’s increasingly fast-paced world, dealer locators disappoint. They are inconvenient for consumers, provide no attribution to store sales, and there is high risk of lost sales. Consumers demand local product visibility, and with Shopatron’s Local Product Search, clunky dealer locators become more efficient product locators. Brands can bring local product inventory visibility to their website, allowing consumers to find any product, anywhere with less than 20 seconds of effort.

Shopatron’s solution offers a rich set of features that improve and expand upon the capabilities of store and dealer locators to-date:

  • Inventory Storage
  • Inventory API
  • Local Search Widget
  • Finderbot™ technology
  • Program performance data

Using Local Product Search, a consumer’s location is established while visiting a brand’s product pages.  Based on available store inventory feeds, nearby stores are instantly identified, indicating where the item is in-stock or out-of-stock. It also identifies additional local stores that may carry the product. Consumers activate the Finderbot technology by entering their mobile phone number and clicking “Find it for Me.” Finderbot makes real-time stock requests to retailers without inventory feeds, aggregates responses, and displays them on a web page that is both mobile and desktop friendly. A text message containing a link to localized search results is pushed out to consumers in real-time as stores respond to Finderbot’s inventory requests.

“Shopatron’s Local Product Search solution is a first-of-its-kind and a game-changing technology for brands and retailers,” says Shopatron founder and CEO, Ed Stevens. “Real-time inventory feeds from larger retailers allow some exposure to local product availability. However, that leaves a significant gap of product visibility from local retailers without these feeds. Shopatron’s Finderbot technology bridges that gap, providing consumers same-day in-store pickup for all local products. When brands and retailers can delight consumers in this way, it creates a win-win scenario across their organizations and in their channel partnerships.”

Local Product Search is the only technology that can find products at local retailers with or without store inventory feeds. With Shopatron, brands and retailers can now meet rising consumer expectations, empowering shoppers to easily find products in nearby stores like never before.
