ChannelAdvisor’s clients that sell in the Amazon Marketplace had an increase of 52% during Cyber Weekend, according to statistics released by platform provider ChannelAdvisor.
Amazon’s steady growth during November culminated during the Cyber Five shopping period from Thanksgiving Day through Cyber Monday.
After reviewing various ecommerce channels, “Amazon was a clear winner with more than 50% growth year over year – well over twice the growth rate of overall ecommerce,” said ChannelAdvisor CEO Scot Wingo.
“As big box retailers competed to see who could open first on Thanksgiving, online retailers, including Amazon, pushed up their promotions as well,” Wingo added. “This resulted in steady growth throughout all of November as opposed to the more concentrated numbers we’ve experienced the past few years during the Cyber Five.”
ChannelAdvisor, which works with more than 3,000 ecommerce brands, managed $2.8 billion in gross merchandise value (GMV) on behalf of retailers of all sizes including Saks, Dell, and Brookstone last year. ChannelAdvisor’s same-store sales include its customers who have been with the company at least one full year.
Here are some of its key Cyber Monday numbers:
Paid search same-store sales increased 39% for ChannelAdvisor clients.
eBay’s same-store sales remained steady with 10% growth.
Comparison shopping same-store sales increased 5% for ChannelAdvisor clients.
ChannelAdvisor client ReCellular sells refurbished mobile devices on multiple channels and experienced meteoric growth on Amazon during the Cyber Five — increasing its sales nearly 170% percent on Black Friday alone.
