Newegg, an exclusive online-only electronics retailer, is looking to open a new Midwest distribution center in Indianapolis, Indiana, according to the Indianapolis Business Journal.
The proposal, according to the article, is expected to cost $15 million to lease and equip the 800,000 square-foot facility, which will be located in the AmeriPlex business park.
The southern California-based retailer, according to the article, has asked the city for seven-year property tax abatement on the project that would save it $723,522.
The proposal also calls for 150 additional jobs at the facility, but hiring wouldn’t happen until 2014, according to the article.
Newegg was founded in 2001 and according to its website, currently has over 18 million registered customers.
Indianapolis will also be the home of the 2014 Operations Summit, an exclusive conference brought to you by Multichannel Merchant for the catalog and operations ecommerce community.
