Engineering/manufacturing company Advanced Thermal Solutions has spun off a heat sinks title. The six-page catalog, which launched in June, sells more than 380 heat sinks available for overnight delivery exclusively from electronic components distributor Digi-Key Corp.
According to Raymond Santos, marketing development specialist for ATS, “we had a soft launch in June and we will have a second drop in October.” Santos declined to release circulation figures, but added the book mailed to customers within ATS’ database. “The four pages besides the cover and back pages are full of technical information and product listings,” he says. There is an electronic version of the heat sinks catalog that can be printed from the ATS Website as well.
What’s a heat sink? A device that absorbs and dissipates heat from another object using thermal contact. Heat sinks, which are used with items such as PCs, laptops, TVs, and any high-end telecommunications equipment, Typically, have fins on top that air flows through.
Santos says ATS was working with Digi-Key on offering a smaller set of parts, but then “we completely revamped and standardized the product line.” Of 381 parts offered in the new catalog, 331 are new, he says. “The catalog is really a way for us to funnel customers who want to purchase volume quantities rapidly through Digi-Key, which is a huge global supplier. We married our heat sink technology with Digi-Key’s global supply chain capabilities.”
