A Month After catalogers seemed to be mailing more, it looks like they’re cutting back again. The Catalog Tracker service of list firm Direct Media reports a 17% drop in catalogs received in August 2008 vs. August 2007.
The biggest hit was in the apparel and accessories titles: Catalog Tracker received 72 titles within this category this year vs. 95 in August 2007.
Fee shipping offers were up a tad in August, from 13% for the month last year to 15% in 2008.
