Harry & David Hangs on Cyber Monday

Tim Parry
November 26, 2012

Retailer shopped: Harry & David

Device used: iPad

Time shopped: Noon eastern on Cyber Monday.

The email offer: Best price of the season on premium pears + Cyber Monday deals save up to 50%

Overall: Placing an order with Harry & David was as simple as you could expect. Getting a reminder that I haven’t completed my order was not. I signed in and purposely abandoned my cart with hopes Harry & David would send me some sort of reminder to buy. But that has not happened.

I also had some issues logging in to Harry & David from an iPad. First I tried to log in using Facebook, but the login page got hung up (I did try to log in with Facebook a few hours later, and was able to get the login page). So I logged in with my email address and password.

Landing page worked: Brought me right from the email to the Royal Riviera pear product page.

The item was easy to put in the cart because: all I had to do was click “add to cart.” Perpetual cart dropped down, and I was allowed to continue shopping or check out. I chose to continue shopping, then abandoned my cart.

I was suggested an add-on, and it was: actually a suggestion on the product page. Either the Tower of Sweet Treats or the Pineapple Macadamia Nut Cake. I guess they go with pears.

I abandoned the cart, and I haven’t received an abandoned cart email: If I get one today, I will update this post.
