Your spouse wants a 2001 BMW Individual M6 Convertible for Christmas, though you’d rather send him or her into outer space. But if you don’t get him or her the wheels, you could end up in the doghouse, albeit one that starts at $5,000. And that would probably mean your spouse won’t bid on the charity auction–the All-Star sports celebrity dream package–for you.
All those luxury items (even the trip into space) are for sale in the 152-page Neiman Marcus Christmas Book, which is being distributed to more than 2 million homes.
The 80th edition of the catalog, released Wednesday, features gifts more extravagant than the multichannel retailer’s usual luxury assortment. Highlights include a Virgin Galactic charter to space ($1.76 million for a six-person charter), a vacation timeshare at The Club at Castiglion del Bosco in Italy ($3.8 million), a backyard waterpark by Waterplay ($100,000), and a GG Quad European sports car ($56,465).
The Christmas Book also includes information about an online charity auction, with proceeds going to New York Yankees manager Joe Torre’s Safe at Home Foundation for victims of domestic violence. Bidding on VIP trips for four to a half-dozen showcase sporting events—including the NHL All-Star Game in Dallas, the NBA All-Star Game in Las Vegas, and Super Bowl XLI in South Florida–starts at $250,000.
