My Pi Day inbox made me sigh, and it made me cry. I only received three Pi Day offers from retailers on March 14, 2015 (the biggest Pi Day celebration of the century). Make that 3.14159265359 emails if you throw in the one I got from Uno Pizzeria & Grill.
To me, it felt like retailers didn’t want to offer 31.41%, or $31.41, off an order. Or that the retailers whose email marketing messages I subscribe to were saving it up for St. Patrick’s Day.
Or maybe, just maybe, these 3.14159265359 retailers looked at my customer profile, and the “nerd alert” alarm went off. Maybe they knew I could have been a contestant on “Geek, Dweeb, or Spaz?” Or maybe my penchant for buying Big Bang Theory USB memory sticks from RadioShack made me a dead giveaway (and no, RadioShack was not one of the merchants who sent me a Pi Day email).
