FedEx is in the midst of planning a “massive distribution center” located in Palm Springs, CA which would sort thousands of packages a day and employ approximately 300 workers, according to The Dessert Sun.
The package and distribution facility, according to the article, would be 150,560-square-feet and sit on 22.6 acres. The facility would function as a regional distribution center serving the Coachella Valley.
According to the article, the new facility would be served by 17 daily semi-rigs “carrying packages from other regions, which would be sorted and loaded onto delivery vans to be sent across the greater Palm Springs area.”
There is no word on when construction of the facility would begin or when it would be completed and fully operational.
