Internet marketer Ebags is getting into the catalog business. The heretofore Web-only marketer of handbags, luggage, computer cases, and diaper bags is mailing a 32-page catalog to 250,000 people, mostly customers. The catalog is scheduled to arrive in homes Nov. 18.
“In three years, we’ve shipped over 1.5 million bags, so we’ve got a lot of customers out there,” says vice president Peter Cobb. “We wanted to try to introduce Ebags to them in a different manner and remind them during the holiday season that there are other products. Maybe they came in and bought a piece a luggage or a backpack and then they were out of the site. We wanted to let them know we have 7,000 products on our Website.”
As it did for its Website, Ebags will use the “What’s Your Bag?” campaign in the catalog. The campaign matches famous and not-so-well-known heroes with their ideal bags.
