New Hartford, CT–Promotional products and business greeting cards cataloger Executive Greetings is on a spending spree. CATALOG AGE has learned that the business-to-business mailer bought fo
ur catalog titles in March alone, bringing its number of books to 25. On March 15, the $100 million-plus Executive Greetings acquired San Francisco-based promotional products cataloger Curtis Rand Industries to further bolster its position in the highly fragmented promotional products industry. Curtis Rand’s operations will remain in San Francisco, says Stephen F. Oakes, Executive Greetings’ vice president of acquisitions and corporate development. Less than two weeks earlier, on March 2, Executive Greetings had acquired three catalogs from Tonawanda, NY-based Landmark Direct: signs and labels book ReadyMade, materials handling products title Turnkey, and dry-erase boards manufacturer/cataloger TimeWise. Terms of both deals were not disclosed.
As CATALOG AGE reported in January, Executive Greetings is seeking to acquire companies in the promotional products industry with revenue in the $5 million-$20 million range. “We will continue to be very acquisitive,” Oakes says. “These are very complementary businesses.” Executive Greetings titles include greeting cards catalogs Brookhollow and Greenwoods Collection; Dental Ideabook, which sells dental appointment cards; and U.S. Diary, which sells planners and organizers.
