Having recently obtained approximately $4 million in funding, along with a new credit line, North Adams, MA-based eZiba is branching out. The cataloger of gifts from artisans around the world, primarily in developing nations, is expanding its product line and venturing into wholesaling.
Beginning in the fall, eZiba will be selling apparel in addition to the jewelry, gifts, and home accessories that make up most of its product line. President Bill Miller struck a deal to sell apparel from Boca Raton, FL-based cataloger Under the Canopy, which sells clothes made of organic fabrics. “Both of our companies are focused on social responsibility,” Miller says, “so not only is the merchandise a good fit, but our mission and customer base are as well.”
EZiba will also be launching a “store within a store” in Chicago’s Marshall Field’s department store in September. The cataloger has a similar boutique in New York’s upscale ABC Carpet & Home store.
In addition, Marshall Field’s figures into eZiba’s foray into wholesaling. EZiba will provide the retailer with holiday items from its network of artisans.
