Seeking to expand its range of services, healthcare products and services cataloger MarketLab has acquired substantially all of the assets of Newmatic Medical. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 1986, Newmatic Medical is a Petaluma, CA-based is a direct marketer of MRI products and accessories, including sound system, headphones, wheelchairs, and stretchers.
Steven Bosio, MarketLab’s chief marketing officer, says the Caledonia, MI-based company wants to extend its reach to others areas of the hospital.
“Our success has primarily been in the laboratory space,” Bosio says. “In the past three years, we have expanded into the operating room.” The Newmatic Medical acquisition was prompted by “the opportunity to acquire a strong brand in the growing MRI space, which complements our core business,” he says.
How will Newmatic Medical enhance MarketLab’s business?
“Since we share many of the same hospital accounts, it allows us to sell more products to our existing customers,” Bosio explains. “Like MarketLab, Newmatic offers its MRI customers many unique and hard to find solutions so the fit was perfect.”
Bosio says MarketLab plans to produce the Newmatic catalog and will seek to cross-sell products among the brands. He would not disclose MarketLab’s annual catalog circulation, but Bosio anticipates the Newmatic acquisition will increase it by about 5% to 7%.
