Privately held Olivette, MO-based Home Delivery Incontinent Supplies Co. (HDIS) has acquired Mail Order Medical Supply (MOMS). Terms of the deal, which closed Nov. 23, were not disclosed.
The acquisition augments HDIS’s line of bladder-control products. HDIS estimates that 15 million Americans suffer from incontinence, a number expected to increase as the population ages. The U.S. market for adult incontinence products is estimated at $1.5 billion. HDIS spokesperson Becky Cooper says the company will include MOMS’s incontinence products into the 40-page HDIS catalog, which mails twice a year.
HDIS moved MOMS’s operations, call center, and inventory from Valencia, CA, to Olivette last month. For the time being, the MOMS catalog, which sells mobiity products, wound-care supplies, and aids for daily living, will continue to mail monthly, although Cooper says HDIS may make changes regarding frequency sometime in 2006.
