Plow & Hearth, LLC. announced that it has acquired certain assets of Children’s Wear Digest, Inc., according to a press release.
Headquartered in Richmond, VA, CWD Kids is a catalog and online retailer of high-quality children’s apparel. CWD Kids features a blend of branded in-house designs and premier third party labels, offering unique styles for all occasions.
“CWD Kids is a well-respected brand, and this acquisition represents a great opportunity to expand our offering of high-quality children’s products to our end customers,” said Chris Wornom, Plow & Hearth’s Business Development and Acquisitions Manager.
CWD Kids will join Plow & Hearth’s other children’s focused brands HearthSong and Magic Cabin.
“We are very excited about this new chapter. We wanted to find a home for CWD Kids that valued the work our family put into building our brand and cultivating the loyalty of our customers,” said Jim Klaus, President of CWD Kids. “Plow & Hearth’s reputation for customer service and commitment to quality children’s products make this a natural fit.”
A seamless customer experience is paramount, so the transition to Plow & Hearth will be gradual.
“Jim and team will continue to operate the business while we integrate websites and prepare to launch the brand under our umbrella. We’ll begin serving CWD Kids’ customers, with the same great service, in September 2016,” said John Haydock, President of Plow & Hearth.
Customers can expect the same high-quality kids’ apparel, as well as some new additions of “better-for-you” toys and games from new sister brands HearthSong and Magic Cabin.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
