Johnny wants a pair of skates, Suzy wants a sled… but if they’re supposed to arrive on-time via a UPS truck, they may be gettin’ nuttin’ for Christmas.

UPS posted a service update today that alerted customers that a “vast majority” of packages scheduled to arrive on-time for Christmas will be delivered on Dec. 26.

“The volume of air packages in our system exceeded the capacity of our network as demand was much greater than the forecast, resulting in some shipments being delayed,” UPS said in the message posted on its website. “We expect a vast majority of these packages will be delivered the day after Christmas.”

UPS said it understands the importance of your holiday shipments, and added that all its drivers are out making deliveries throughout Christmas Eve day and into the evening.
