Amazon.com, Inc. has announced that customers in 15 additional cities are eligible for Sunday delivery.
In November, Amazon announced that is working with the U.S. Postal Service to deliver packages to Amazon Prime members on Sundays, starting in the Los Angeles and New York metropolitan areas.
Since Sunday delivery launched, millions of packages have been delivered on Sunday to Amazon customers, the merchant said in a press release. In addition to the 15 cities just announced, Amazon and the USPS plan to continue to roll out Sunday delivery to a large portion of the U.S. population this year.
In addition to the New York and Los Angeles areas, Amazon customers in Austin, Cincinnati, College Station (TX), Columbus, Dallas, Houston, Indianapolis, Lexington (KY), Louisville, New Orleans, Oklahoma City, Philadelphia, San Antonio, Shreveport (LA) and Waco (TX) are now receiving deliveries on Sunday.
To participate, Amazon customers can add eligible items to their cart and see the Sunday delivery promise at checkout when available in their region.
Mike Roth, Amazon’s vice president of North America operations, said baby supplies such as newborn apparel, books and toys are among the most-common items delivered on Sundays.
