Merchants are targeting more and more sales channels — Amazon, eBay, and multiple ecommerce sites to name a few — which creates a real challenge for keeping your inventory in synch across channels and accumulating all orders into the same fulfillment workflow while notifying each sales channel along the way.

Scott Weaver, president and CEO of CoLinear Systems, says there are some things a modern order management system and the power of web services can accomplish to ease the pain of keeping everything in synch, all channels notified, and customers happy.
“There is no reason that a merchant should settle for an order management system that does not meet its needs or that results in a change to the way it conducts business,” just to “fit the software,” Weaver says.
While the world of computing is headed toward full cloud-based SaaS software offerings, Weaver says there is often a need for a hybrid solution that gives you full local control of your data and in-house hardware, while offering a “work anywhere” approach to the operators.
If you want to know more, Weaver will be speaking on this topic at the Operations Summit in Memphis May 2-3. For more information, go to www.operationssummit.com.
